Product information "Fairtrade Gold - 999.9 ‰ (24 kt) - Casting Grain"

Highly purified gold granulate with a purity of 999.9 ‰ and a mixed grain size of approx. 0.2 - 4 mm. These granules (casting grain) are ideally suitable for jewelers, goldsmiths and manufacturers for smelting, alloying and casting and ultimately for the production of semi-finished products and finished jewelry. Melting temperature: 1063 °C, casting temperature: 1100 - 1150 °C, density: 19.3 g/cm³.

Certification: This gold is responsibly mined by Fairtrade-certified Artisanal & Small-scale Mining Organizations (ASMOs) in Peru, fairly traded and certified according to the "Fairtrade Standard for Gold and Associated Precious Metals for Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining" of the Fairtrade Labelling Organizations International e.V.. For details, see www.fairtrade.net/standards/

Fairtrade Standard: The workers of the mining organizations receive the guaranteed Fairtrade minimum price of 95 % of the London gold price (we actually pay 98 to 99 %) as well as the Fairtrade Premium of 2,000 USD/kg of gold. These additional revenues are invested according to democratic principles in community projects such as schools and health centres. Fairtrade is committed to improving the protection of people and the environment in mining. For example, Fairtrade certification prescribes protective clothing and health and safety training. Abusive child labour is prohibited in Fairtrade-certified gold mines.

Production: Gold grain is often an intermediate product on the way from mine gold to the finished piece of jewellery. The granules are produced after melting, when the liquid fine gold drips through a hot sieve into water and solidifies into beads in the process. The resulting gold pellets look like small nuggets from the gold digger era. Goldsmiths and jewellery manufacturers can easily weigh-out the required amount of fine gold and add it to alloys to produce semi-finished products.

Packaging: We fill the grain into resealable and recyclable transparent plastic bags. On the product label you'll find all the relevant data.

Target group: We only sell this item to the trade, not to consumers.
