Are the alloying metals also completely fair traded?

All of the fine gold in our Fairtrade Gold alloys -

  1. 75% in the “750” or 18 carat alloys and,

  2. 58.5% in the “585” or 14 carat alloys 

has been responsibly mined by Fairtrade-certified small-scale mining organizations, fairly traded and certified according to the "Fairtrade Standard for Gold and Associated Precious Metals for Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining" of the Registered Association of Fairtrade Labelling Organizations International. All of the fine silver in our Fairtrade Gold alloys comes from responsible small-scale mining organizations in Peru (especially Sotrami and Macdesa), whose exemplary working practices we have personally verified. Copper is primarily derived from scrap metal recycling. Palladium is obtained through traditional mining (primarily as a byproduct of industrial metal mining) and recycling.
