Regular shapes: We stock round wire 1 mm and rolled square wire 4 mm and 6 mm. Log into your account and select your item from the drop-down list below the price table. Simply enter the desired quantity, add it to your shopping cart and place the order.
Please note: You'll find a tool to calculate the weight of the articles, depending on the specific alloy, form and measures, under this link. Please download the file (top right button) to your computer, as it does not work in web browsers or on mobile devices. Weights are just an approximation, especially for irregular shapes such as rolled square wire, oval wire etc.
Custom shapes: We're happy to manufacture custom-made shapes on request from 150 grams per item. The delivery time is approx. 5 to 8 working days. You'll find an overview of all possible forms under this link. This includes rectangular / square / round / oval / D-shaped wire, strip and sheet in flexible sizes. Please order directly via our web shop. Select the desired alloy and "Custom shape", enter the approx. weight (see above) and add the article to your shopping cart. Then, at the checkout, leave a comment ("More options" -> "Enter your comment") with the specific form and measures you require. If you order multiple items, please specify the respective position (i.e. line number from top to bottom). (If the requested measures are not feasible, we will get back to you shortly. Otherwise, your desired items will be manufactured.)
Origin: The Fairmined Silver contained in this alloy comes from certified artisanal & small-scale mining organizations and was mined responsibly for people and the environment. Fairmined-certified silver is very scarce and precious, as it is only found as a by-product in Fairmined-certified gold mining. 1 kilogram of doré gold (containing approx. 800 grams of gold) contains only approx. 100 to 150 grams of silver. So we need to sell 5 to 8 times more gold than silver! Refining small amounts of silver physically segregated from other silver is expensive.
(Fairmined-certified "pure play" silver mines do not exist, as "fair trade" concepts are always about empowering small producers. Silver mining is mainly a large-scale industrial activity, as the sales price of silver is too low and the extraction costs too high to be viable for small-scale mining.)
Alloy metals: All silver used in our "Fairmined Silver" alloys is Fairmined-certified silver. The copper used in our "Fairmined Silver" alloys is predominantly from recycling.
Fairmined Standard: The workers of the mining organizations receive the guaranteed Fairmined minimum price of 95 % of LBMA (London silver price) (we usually pay the miners 125 - 130 %) as well as the Fairmined Premium of 100 USD/kg of fine silver. These additional revenues are invested according to democratic principles in community projects such as schools, health centres and infrastructure. Fairmined is committed to improving the protection of people and the environment in mining. For example, Fairmined certification prescribes protective clothing and health and safety training. Abusive child labour is prohibited in Fairmined-certified mines.
About Fairmined: You'll find detailed information about the Fairmined Standard and its benefits for artisanal and small-scale mining organisations at www.fairmined.org.
